Entry Requirements
To be eligible, applicants should be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary-type passport, and in good health;
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, those who immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and applying to study in Shanghai University as international students, should meet the following additional requirements: the applicants must hold valid passport or other relevant international recognized documents for at least 4 years; meanwhile, in the latest 4 years (by each April 30th of the year of University registration), the applicants must have lived overseas for 2 years (Living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa.)
Language Proficiency Certificate
If you are applying for Chinese-taught programs, HSK certificates within two years are required (HSK refers to Chinese Proficiency Test.
HSK 4 above 180Art;
HSK 4 above 195 for Science or Engineering;
HSK 4 above 210 for Economics or Management;
HSK 5 above 180 for Humanities.
HSK Exemptions
The following types of applicants are exempt from taking the HSK:
Native speaker of Chinese;
The previous degree is fully taught in Chinese.
Note: All applicants who are going to apply for Chinese taught programs in 2021 will be required to have HSK 5 at least 180.Those who fail to meet the requirement should participate in the International Foundation Program of Shanghai University.
Academic Requirement
Be a bachelor's degree holder;
Graduates who did not receive their degree certificates at the time of application should provide pre-graduation certificates issued by their schools or colleges to prove their ability to graduate
smoothly and obtain their degree certificates by July 2020.
Accepted by a prospective professor at Shanghai University
The academic proficiency will be evaluated by the prospective professor.
Please note that it is not required to choose supervisor for the following Master's programs:
School of Economics, MBA center and SILC Business School. The colleges will arrange soon after they register at Shanghai University.

1) After the completion of getting the ordered credit hour, postgraduates can go start the dissertation;
2) Postgraduates should ,in the second calendar year,finish chosing the topic of dissertation and composing plan under the direction of their tutor,and do thesis statement for the first time .The thesis statement should have 3-5 professional tutors,of whom there must be 3 professors or vice professors.The topic and contents of thesis must have learned or applied value. on a certain extend.
3) During the period of writing thesis, you should join the research project which your tutor presided, to enhance your abilities of the theory research and demonstration research, and its assess of technology and research level should be excuted according to the requirement of "Shanghai University master degree confered by the quantization indication of technology and research results".
4) After finishing the thesis and being confirmed in the pre-answer procedure, which consists of four senior teachers including your tutor, then evaluation and answer for thesis procedure will be organised which concluded specalists in the same field from this school or other institutions.
50 After finishing the thesis, students will be confered master degree according to the evaluation regulation of "The degree regulation of People's Republic of China" and "The rules of Shanghai University degree confered".

Recent bareheaded (within six months), full-face, blue-color background, one-inch certificate photo (390*570), instead of landscape photos or photos of daily life; in JPG format, less than 100K.
*8. Certificate of Bachelor degree
Certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.
*9. Two Letters of Recommendation with Signature
Written in English or Chinese by two different professors or associate professors from previous academic institutions, or work supervisors, etc. The referee’s signature and contact information are necessary.
*10. Study Plan or Research Proposal in China
Written in English or Chinese (according to the teaching language of the program), more than 800 words, including research achievements so far (e.g. title and abstracts of graduation thesis or published paper), reasons of choosing SHU, study and research plan, future career plan, etc.
