*1. Statement of Financial Support

*2. Choose Supervisor Online and Get Accepted

Please note that it is not required to choose supervisor for following Master programs: School of Economics, MBA center and SILC Business School. The colleges will arrange soon after they register at Shanghai University.

*3. Certificate of No Criminal Record

For any applicants who can not get the Certificate of No Criminal Record at home country, please sign the No criminal record Commitment with Shanghai University.

*4. Selfie video

Applicants should submit a video including self-introduction and study plan in China. avi, mov, or mp4 less than 50 MB are accepted. The language of the video should be consistent with the language of the program you are applying for (English or Chinese).

*5. Information Page of Passport

A clear copy of your valid passport with your name, photo, birth date, place of birth, date of issue, date of expiry; Visa page is required for applicants who are currently in China. Visa page is required for applicants who are not in their home country.

*6. ID photo

The passport-size photo (one-inch, 219*413) should be taken within the last six months, bareheaded, full-faced with blue-color background; the photo is required to submit as JPG image less than 100kb.

*7. Academic Transcripts of Bachelor Degree

Academic Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.
For applicants who haven’t graduated, pending graduation certificate and transcripts available till the application date are also acceptable. Official graduation certificate and transcripts of all grades shall be submitted timely after being received.

*8. Highest Degree Certificate

Certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required. Written in English or Chinese by two different professors or associate professors or experts from related fields.
The referee’s signature and contact information are necessary.And the date of recommendation letter should not be earlier than September,2025.

*11. Research Plan(including study plan and research proposal in China)

Please download the sample and write it in English or Chinese (according to the teaching language of the program), more than 800 words, including research achievements so far (e.g. title and abstracts of graduation thesis or published paper), reasons of choosing SHU, study and research plan, future career plan, etc.
The research plan for applying for the major of Drama and Film Studies should be no less than 2000 words.The content can be combined with your own interests,learning and work experience,to explain your researchdirection,the reasons,and future study plan.

Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit.
